2006 China Tour

The International Children’s Choir singing at the World Choir Games in China

The International Children's Choir traveled to China, along with 400 other choirs from 80 nations to compete in the World Choir Games. The choir sang during the opening ceremony, received gold diplomas and two bronze medals in two categories.

John Williams conducts the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square, and International Children’s Choir in performing the 2002 Winter Olympic theme song “Call of the Champions” during the Cultural Olympiad concert, February 9, 2002. “Call of the Champions” was composed by John Williams for the 2002 Olympic Games. It begins with the choir singing “Citius! Altius! Fortius!,” the Olympic motto, meaning “Faster, Higher, Stronger.”
